Batman/Joker stories are well-trod territory for not only the Caped Crusader's live-action film appearances (see Batman (1989) and The Dark Knight), but also his animated movies (Batman: The Killing Joke being the most recent example). In the ending of the Killing Joke there's one frame where Joker's shell starts to brake and for a second this evil character transforms into something sad, or even sympathetic.
